The Post-2015 Agenda and the UN CRPD in Latin America: Fostering Regional Dialogue to Develop Common Understanding on Implementation of the UN CRPD and an Inclusive Post-2015 Framework

Prof MacLachlan also presented a paper in October 2015, at a conference on “The Post-2015 Agenda and the UN CRPD in Latin America: Fostering Regional Dialogue to Develop Common Understanding on Implementation of the UN CRPD and an Inclusive Post-2015 Framework”.  The conference was organised by the International Disability Alliance—in partnership with the United Nations Partnership to Promote the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNPRPD), the São Paulo State Secretariat for the Rights of the Person with Disability and with the support of UNICEF.     The Sao Paulo Declaration that arose from this meeting is available here: (SEE ATTACHMENT).  Prof MacLachlan was attending in connection to his role as Research Co-ordinator for the WHO GATE (Global Cooperation on Assistive Technology) programme and and Knowledge Management Lead for the United Nations Partnership to Promote the Rights of Persons with Disabilities; his attendance was generously supported by Irish Aid.
